What is Game Time?

Game Time is a 2nd screen broadcast companion, that brings the in-arena experience home to you. You can interact with fellow fans through chat, trivia, and predictive games, as well as compete for prizes, all in real-time, while watching the game. This new digital platform is available now through the Official Toronto Maple Leafs, Official Toronto Raptors, and Official Toronto FC Apps for games this season.

How do I sign-up?

You can sign-up to access Game Time through the team apps. On game day, Game Time will open up to 10 minutes prior to the start of game. You can join Game Time as a Guest to check out what Game Time has to offer. To participate in trivia and interact with other fans, you will need to login with existing team app credentials or create an account for access.


How do I access the platform?

Upon opening the Official Team App, you can navigate to the Game Time or Match Time tab in the bottom menu of the App. The live experience of Game Time will open up to 10 minutes prior to the start of the game and be accessible through this section on the app. Open times will vary per team. If not previously logged in, you can enter as guests. If you have logged in previously, the system will remember this, and no further action is required. The Game Time or Match Time tab can be accessed at any time, but the live experience will only be live up to 30 minutes prior and for the duration of the game.

When can I access Game Time?

How long will I be able to access Game Time for?

You will be able to access Game Time for the duration of the 2021-22 season.

Is there a fee for Game Time?

The platform is free to use! All we ask is that you use the platform at your leisure, try out some of the features and give us some feedback at https://watch.realsports.ca/feedback on how to improve the experience.

Registration & Login

How do I log-in?

Once Game Time is live (up to 10 minutes before the game, open time will vary per team), you will be able to access Game Time for that game. You can access each game from the Game Time or Match Time tab in the Official Team App where you can click Enter on the live game. If you do not have an account, you will join as a guest, and you can register or log in by clicking the profile icon on the top right.

Can I visit as a guest?

Yes, you can access Game Time without registering an account. You can follow the chat, view trivia questions and answers, and play some games. You need to be logged in to participate in trivia and collect points.

I am trying to register/login and my email is not being recognized - what should I do?

Please send an email to gametime@mlse.com with the subject line “Game Time Support” and a member of our support team will be in contact with you as soon as possible.

I have created an account but haven’t received the confirmation email, what should I do?

You can continue to Game Time by clicking on the right arrow to verify your account later. If you have trouble accessing Game Time, please send an email to gametime@mlse.com with the subject line “Game Time Support” and a member of our support team will be in contact with you as soon as possible.

I've forgotten my password - what should I do?

Please use the Forgot Password prompt that will appear after entering your email. You will then receive an email to reset your password.

I am trying to reset my password and have not received the email to do so - what should I do?

Please check your spam or junk email folder as sometimes these emails get stuck in there! If you have completed the above and still not received the email, please send an email to gametime@mlse.com with the subject line “Game Time Support” and a member of our support team will be in contact with you as soon as possible.

Technical

What is the best way to participate in Game Time?

Game time can beaccessed through the team apps on tablet, or mobile device.

Can I login with the same account on multiple devices at one time?

Digital Arena can be accessed with the same account on multiple devices that are on the same network.

Who can I contact for help?

How do I mute/unmute the trivia sounds?

  1. Click on your username in the top right corner.
  2. Click the edit button.
  3. Toggle the 'Mute Notification Sounds' to YES if you want to turn sounds OFF, or to NO if you want to the sounds ON.
  4. Click Save.

How do I make the trivia questions and games NOT automatically display?

  1. Click on the profile icon in the top right corner.
  2. Click the edit button at the bottom of the popup.
  3. Toggle the Minimize Trivia by Default to YES if you do not want them to display automatically, or NO if you want them to open automatically. Note: if you set to YES, you will have to click the banner image at the top to display each question or game.
  4. Click save.

Chat

Why are my chats not sending in the live chat?

Chats are monitored by an AI system and filtered to only post what is deemed appropriate. Filtered content includes, but is not limited to, phone numbers, email addresses, and offensive language. Please reach out to gametime@mlse.com if you feel your chats have been incorrectly filtered.

Who can I contact if I feel something offensive has been said in the chatroom?

The live chat within Real Sports Entertainment is monitored by both an AI system and human moderators, with a goal of creating an exciting and fan-friendly atmosphere for all. If you feel inappropriate or offensive language has been used in the Real Sports Entertainment live chat, please inform us by emailing gametime@mlse.com

How do I add friends?

To add a friend, click on a username from the global chat and click on Add Friend. Once the user accepts your friend request, you can see their online status in the Friends window which you can access from the top menu bar.

You could also add a friend by clicking on the Friends icon on the top right menu bar, and click on Requests to search a user by their username.

How do I manage friend requests?

Click on the Friends icon on the top right menu bar, and click on Requests in the pop-up window. Here you can Accept or Reject incoming requests, as well as cancel requests you sent to others.

I added a friend, but why can’t I see them in the friend list?

Your request may still be pending acceptance. If you check the Requests page, and it shows under Sent, that means the user has not accepted yet. If you do not see the sent request, it means your friend request was rejected.

If I reject a request, will the other person be notified?

No, when you reject a request the other person will not be notified. They will no longer see the request as pending.

What if I accidentally reject someone?

If you rejected someone by accident, you could go to the Requests page, search their username and send them a friend request instead.

How do I start a private group chat?

You can either click on a friend’s name in the chat and select +Send Message or select the room switcher and select New Group Chat. Once the New Group Chat box appears:

  1. Select Private Group
  2. Enter a group name
  3. Add members from your friends list
  4. Click Create

How do I invite additional friends to a private group chat?

Any member of a private group chat can invite their friends, not just the creator. To add more friends:

  1. Enter the private group chat using the room switcher
  2. Click the gear icon next to the room switcher
  3. Click on the Invite tab
  4. Click on the input box and select friends from the dropdown
  5. Click “Add to Group”

How do I leave a private group chat?

Select Leave next to the group chat you want to leave in the room switcher.

How do I start a public group chat?

You can either click on a friend’s name in the chat and select +Send Message or select the room switcher and select New Group Chat. Once the New Group Chat box appears:

  1. Select Public Group
  2. Enter a group name
  3. Add members from your friends list
  4. Click Create

How do I invite fans to a public group chat?

You can share the public group name in the Global chat and it will be a clickable link to join that public group chat. All public group chats start with # (example: #goleafsgo).

How do I leave a public group chat?

Select Leave next to the group chat you want to leave in the room switcher.

Is there a maximum number of group chats I can join?

Yes, currently you can only join 10 public or private group chats, not including global. If you want to join an 11th group chat, you need to leave one of the other group chats first by using the Leave option from the room switcher.

Prizing

How do I win a prize?

You have a chance to win prizes by participating in the Trivia, Get Loud, and other games!

What prizes can I win?

We are going to have a variety of prizes - from Uber Eats gift cards, to team merch and apparel!

How will I know if I've won a prize?

Prize winners will be shouted out in the Chat by our chat hosts, and will be contacted within 7-10 business days after the game for instructions on collecting your prize.

Leaderboard & Points

What do the points mean?

The points you earn over the course of the game get added to your Leaderboard total. At the end of every game, we will be conducting a random prize draw. The more points you have, the higher the chance of winning a prize!

How does the points scoring work?

You can earn points by participating in games throughout the duration of the live game! Points are awarded for correct answers in the Predictive Trivia and Historical Trivia, and the points you accumulate from Get Loud and 8-bit games are equal to your final scores in those games. Your points are accumulated over the course of the game and added to your Leaderboard total!
